Paying a pending invoice
- Log in to my.electrumhosting.com and go to Invoices. Pending ones show as Payment pending.
- Open it and click Pay.
- Choose card or PayPal and complete the payment.
With card and PayPal the payment clears in seconds. If it was a new order, the server is created automatically; if it was a renewal, the period is extended; and if the service was suspended, it reactivates automatically.
Bank transfer
It does not appear as an option in the panel because we record it by hand. Message us before paying via ticket with the invoice number and we will send you the details. As soon as the payment arrives, we mark the invoice as paid and everything carries on as with a card. Bear in mind this takes longer: if the invoice is about to fall due, card or PayPal is better.
Automatic payment
So you do not have to remember each renewal:
- Go to Account → Payment Methods and click Add payment method. Follow the gateway's steps.
- On your service page, under Auto pay, choose that method.
From then on, when the renewal invoice is created (7 days before the due date) it will try to charge itself. If the charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds...), you get a notice and can pay it by hand as usual.
You can remove a saved method whenever you like from the same section; linked services go back to manual payment.
Something does not add up
- I paid and it is still pending: some payments take a few minutes to confirm. If it is unchanged after half an hour, open a ticket with the invoice number and the receipt.
- My card is declined: try PayPal or another card; many banks block online payments until you approve them in their app.
